Hind Rattan (Jewels of India) Award, Non-Residents of India Welfare Society, Delhi, India for outstanding life-long accomplishments.

Romesh C. Batra is the recipient of a 2015 American Society of Mechanical Engineers’ (ASME) Honorary Membership award, given to no more than five people world-wide annually.

ASME cited Batra for his “outstanding mentoring of more than 100 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows; and for pioneering work in applied mechanics including rubber-covered rolls, nonlinear elasticity, laminated plates, functionally graded structures, instabilities in microelectromechanical systems, mechanical characterization of carbon nanotubes, and adiabatic shear banding.” full story

Lee Hsun Research Award Ceremony, Institute of Metals Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenyang, China, 10 May 2010. As a part of this award, Romesh Batra Delivered the following three lectures on May 10, 11 and 12, respectively.
1. Adiabatic shear bands in particulate composites.
2. Strain localization in polycarbonates.
3. Deduction of mechanical properties of carbon nanotubes from molecular statics/dynamics simulations.
